I hope you all had a very happy Thanksgiving! I had intended to post yesterday, but the day got away from me. Today, if you're looking for a little fictional distraction from the sales and the crowds, I hope you'll visit Every Day Fiction and read my story
"Dinner Plans" (And consider joining the lively discussion in the comments section.)
Also, if you'd like a chance to win two books by Holly Black, my daughter is hosting her first giveaway over at
Born Bookish.
Until next time, I hope you find lots of great Black Friday bargains and enjoy plenty of delicious turkey leftovers!
I read that site every day. I didn't realise that was your story. I loved it, I thought it was a great study of two people locked in their own grief, neither one really understanding the other.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read your story! I am on my way there now. And YAY for your daughter! So fun!
ReplyDeleteHope your Thanksgiving was wonderful, too. Heading on over to read your story!!!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a lovely Thanksgiving. I shall pop off now to visit your daughter ;-)
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great Thanksgiving. Enjoyed your story.
ReplyDeleteThese ^ just washed crisp apples are a perfect antidote for over-stuffing with stuffing.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Ruth, your "Dinner Plans" story is so well written and full of emotion. Ah, the ending broke my heart. I didn't read the comments. I think they'd be too hard to read. You're an excellent writer. Thanks. I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving, and I hope you got a chance to talk to or visit your dad. I can imagine how hard it was to have to celebrate without him this year. Very difficult.
ReplyDeleteTurkey leftovers are pretty good, but really, I'll take those apples! :)
ReplyDeleteI live in Canada, so no Thanksgiving (that was last month) or Black Friday for me.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great one!
I've already got White Cat. Got to check out her other books!
ReplyDeleteHope your Thanksgiving was great!
