Sweet Talk

I hope you have a sweet tooth, because today's post is full of sugar: sweet blogging buddies and drool-worthy photos. By the time you click away, you may have a sugar buzz.

First I'd like to thank Marcia Hoehne for nominating me for the Super Sweet Blogging Award.

The rules are: 1. Answer the following five sweet questions 2. Nominate five sweet bloggers.

1. Cookies or Cake? Cookies, preferably chocolate chip, or peanut butter, or peanut butter chocolate chip. Of course, homemade are best, but I'll confess to keeping Place and Bake's on hand for- ahem, emergencies.

2. Chocolate or Vanilla? Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, unless we're talking Oreos. Then it's the Golden variety all the way.

3. Favorite Sweet Treat? H
omemade fudge. My mother's recipe.

4. When Do You Crave Sweet Things The Most? After lunch and dinner. The meal just doesn't quite feel complete until I have a taste of something sweet.

5. Sweet Nick Name? My husband calls me Honey. Always. I have rarely heard him say my name. Actually, I think it would freak me out and I'd wonder what was wrong if he called me Ruth. Although, not as much as if he called me Debra, or Angie, or, oh never mind.

Now, I'd like to share this award with five sweet blogging friends:
Victoria Lindstrom When I think of sweet people, Victoria is at the top of the list.
Le&ndra Wallace Even though she gives a shout out to vanilla in her profile, and I am decidedly chocolate.
Sara Bowers Her posts are short, sweet, and give you a lift - just like a good snack.
The Art of Puro This boyfriend/girlfriend illustrating team have the sweetest illustrations. Take a look at their blog header.
Sara Dobie Because your first blog award should be absolutely delicious!

  3. I have to agree with the after-lunch-and-dinner treat. Even a few chocolate chips from the bag will do if I'm desperate!

  4. Perhaps someday I will convince you of the wonders of vanilla, Ruth. Until then- did you know that Steak 'n Shake(my fav place for vanilla cokes) has CHOCOLATE cokes? You're welcome. =) And thanks for the nomination!

  6. Aw, thanks so much! I'm with you on the treat after a meal. It's probably an unhealthy habit to have but the meal just doesn't feel over until I've had something sweet.

  9. Homemade Fudge. Oh my! I'm afraid my mind got stuck on homemade fudge and every other coherent thought trickled out my ears. I haven't had fudge in over 20 years. (I get Swiss & Belgian chocolates here, but I guess fudge is a US specialty.) I LOVE fudge. I'll never get any work done now...

  11. Oh my GOSH! I can't believe you mentioned me, Ruth - thanks!

My taste in sweets runs to the variety of ways sugar can be injected into a cup of coffee. Right now my fav is Starbucks' Pumpkin spice latte.

Thanks again, Ruth, and right back at ya! ^_^

  15. Ok, as soon as I finish commenting, I'm off to raid anything sweet I can find! Actually my favorite sweet of all are the frosted sugar cookies in your first photo, with as much frosting as possible! Love those things!

  16. Ruth, I'm looking forward to checking out your list of blogs this afternoon! Did you know you can make your own ready-to-bake cookies? (Here's how. Even if you don't like oatmeal cookies, it tells you how. http://www.delightfulrepast.com/2011/10/oatmeal-cookies.html) Sorry you didn't win my stand mixer giveaway, but it went to a good home! Chocolate or vanilla? Make mine vanilla, please.

  17. Those are scrumptious photos. And if we can get a sugar buzz without having to eat the calories, all the better! :) And yes to the idea that we need a bit of dessert after a meal. To me, it's what signals me to stop eating.
